If you’ve been following the news of local celebrities these days, you would have known that veteran actress Fann Wong has been preparing for the launch of her new online pastry shop, Fanntasy.
The avid baker started her hobby during the Circuit Breaker last year, and has decided to start her own pastry business after “many months of painstaking trial and error experimenting with and developing the recipes.”
She is also a judge on the Mediacorp baking competition programme, Creme de la Creme.
Currently, Fanntasy offers two types of whole tarts. The first is a Musang King Gula Melaka Tart ($68) that features a butter sable base with durian pulp and house-made gula melaka. This durian-filled tart also has a sprinkle of dried coconut flakes to give the tart an extra oomph.
The second is its Signature Valrhona Chocolate Tart ($58) which features a chocolate sable base filled with almond sponge and Valrhona chocolate cream filling. And to top it all off, the tart is lightly sprinkled with some gold dust.
If you’re wondering why she’s only offering these two flavours for tarts, she revealed that it’s because these flavours were originally inspired by her husband’s, Christopher Lee, and her son’s, Zed, favourite flavours.
Fann also revealed that more desserts will be introduced in the future.
1,000 of Fann Wong’s Tarts Were Sold Out Within 30 Minutes Upon Launch
Fanntasy went live on 13 October at 9.29am and within just 30 minutes, all 1,000 of the tarts available in the pilot launched were bought by fans and pastry-lovers.
A quick look at the official website of Fanntasy also shows that the page is fully sold out and the pastry shop is no longer accepting any additional orders at the moment.
Fann shared the success of her pilot launch on Fanntasy’s official Facebook and Instagram pages, writing, “We are officially SOLD OUT! Having sold 1,000 Tarts under 30mins, we are extremely thankful for the support given to Fanntasy.”

If you didn’t manage to get your hands on Fann’s delicious-looking tarts this time round, don’t worry: stay tuned to Fanntasy’s Facebook and Instagram pages because it will be releasing its next launch date soon. Otherwise, you can also fill up your details on the official website so that you can be notified of any updates to the shop.
In the meantime, you can also check out fellow actress Jeanette Aw’s pastries from her shop, Once Upon A Time.
Her bakery is taking in pre-orders for pastries and it starts on 16 October, 10am. The registration form can be found here.
However, do note that due to the current COVID-19 situation, her bakery is not open for walk-ins or self-collection. As such, only delivery is available.
