Sauces are a great way to spice up one’s food and turn a dry noodle dish into a savoury plate of spaghetti. Most sauces are delicious and sometimes, you can DIY your own sauces to let others try.
But this person took it to the whole new level.
She used her own natural fluid as a sauce to feed her bosses.
FDW Jailed for Mixing Her Menstrual Blood & Urine in Her Employer’s Food
In 2019, a 44-year-old domestic worker decided to mix her urine and menstrual blood into food that was meant to be consumed by her employer’s family.
It was unsure why she did such a thing.
Actually, all was well between her and the family before she went ahead and added these extra ingredients.
She was employed as a helper on a two-year contract with the family from May 2017. At the end of two years, her contract was extended. She was tasked to care for her employer’s children and cook the family’s three meals.
She was also allowed to purchase any ingredients she wanted and cook her own food as well. She worked from 6.30am to 10pm daily and usually got Sundays off.
Unknown Text
Her actions only came to light when her employer received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number on 15 Dec 2019. The number belongs to his domestic worker’s ex-boyfriend.
In the message, the maid told her ex-boyfriend that she mixed her fluids with their food once before the family went for a vacation in Aug that year.
The employer lodged a police report that night, and she admitted to the offence. Her statements were recorded by an investigation officer.
She also apologised to the employer and his wife.
A few weeks later, she texted her employer again, apologising for her mistakes and pleading with him not to put her in prison.
Afraid of Ex-Boyfriend
During the trial, the domestic worker said the confessions she made previously were lies. She created these lies because she was afraid of her ex-boyfriend.
She claimed her ex-boyfriend had instigated her to do it but she decided to lie to him and the police officers instead.
This was because her ex-boyfriend had threatened to physically abuse her, withdraw her financial support or sabotage her employment. He has passed away due to cancer in April 2021.

Baseless Concerns
District Judge Toh Han Li found these concerns to be baseless since the domestic worker has not been in contact with him for months when she gave the police another statement in Sep 2020. That was when she first claimed that she had lied to everyone up till then.
Additionally, the ex-boyfriend could not have sabotaged the employment, considering she was already fired on 16 Dec 2019.
Thus, she has no reason to be afraid of him.
The judge also “found it odd” that the maid would implicate him since she was so “afraid” of him. The judge found her to not be credible.
“I am satisfied that the mixing of menstrual blood and urine in the food would diminish its utility.”
The family also testified and said that her actions are “disgusting”.
On 8 Dec, she was sentenced to nine weeks in jail after being convicted of one charge of committing mischief. She began serving her sentence immediately.
For mischief, she could have been behind bars for up to two years, fined or both.
