If there’s anything food deliverers should be known for, it should be their patience and dedication for enduring long hours of waiting and being on the road to satisfy the never-ending requests of their customers.

That, and maybe how they should make a career out cycling or running— I mean, have you seen their stamina and those strong legs?

But once in a while, there are always food deliverers that will go an extra mile which can make someone’s day, even if it leaves them slightly embarrassed.

foodpanda Rider Delivers Food Straight to Lecture Hall

On 15 Feb, a Tiktor by the handle of power98jk posted a video where a foodpanda rider literally went above and beyond his duty, going as far as interrupting an ongoing lecture to deliver the food straight to his customer’s seat.

At the start of the video, the foodpanda rider can been seen standing at the door of the lecture theatre, checking his phone to see that he has the right location.

His appearance causes a rouse of noise to spread throughout the room, with some students wondering out loud “who” the customer in question was.

The Tiktor, similarly amused, made his own comment in the captions, “OMG someone ordered @foodpandasg straight to our lecture theatre 😂”.

Judging from the setting of the lecture theatre, the laptops, and clothes, it’s highly likely that the incident took place at one of Singapore’s universities, polytechnics, or ITEs.

Afterwards, the lecturer kindly interrupts his own lesson to speak to the foodpanda rider—who has a nice mask by the way—as he presumably asks where his customer is.

The lecturer is then seen pointing to the right side of the class and the camera lens pans accordingly.

It zooms into a girl with dyed-brown hair who is hunching over and covering her face in embarrassment as her friend taps her on the shoulder, somewhat mortified by the attention the delivery has literally brought to her.

As the foodpanda rider makes his way towards her, the whole class cheers and claps.

The Tiktor, ever-the-entertainer, gives a full commentary of the entire process as the amusing background music plays.

He tells the girl to “give angbao” which means tips, and even exclaims “Wah, to the seat you know. To the seat sho. Oi, five star, five star rating!”

Besides giving a five-star rating to the foodpanda rider for his dedication and suave stride across the lecture hall and out, the Tiktor should also be given a thumbs-up for being one of the best promoters.

Props to the lecturer too, for being so understanding about the situation, and letting it happen.

Everyone has to feed themselves somehow.

Response to the Tiktok Video

At the time of writing this article, the Tiktok video has garnered more than 833,000 views and 78,900 likes.

The video was also shared to the Singapore Incidents page, where it has been shared more than 6,200 times.

The Facebook comments were a bit more caustic in the sense that they criticised the girl for either lacking in manners or being too pampered and spoilt, such that she couldn’t even move from her seat to collect the food herself.

On the other hand, the Tiktok commentators were far nicer as they enjoyed the incident as much as the class did.

The most upvoted comment on Tiktok read: “[She] must be really hungry to be ready to take the embarrassment,” though the thread below warns others not to try it.

It is kind of bad-mannered to disrupt a class like this, after all.

The Tiktor later offered another perspective, stating that they weren’t actually sure if the girl was the one who ordered the food because the incident happened on Valentine’s Day. It’s totally possible that a crush or her boyfriend was trying to surprise her by sending her some food.

“She so paiseh (embarrassed), poor thing leh!”

Regardless of whether the girl ordered the food herself, or it had been a sweet gesture from her possible significant other, the foodpanda rider definitely deserves a tip and a 5-star rating for his dedicated services.

Most of all, it brought laughter into the class, and it will certainly remain as one of those amusing moments that the students will carry with them for the rest of the semester.
