Girl Claimed She Was Abused After She Refused Sex in a Rent-a-Date Outing

In our volatile and cruel world, a medley of dangers lurk around us, sometimes rendering us defenceless.

Doubling down on that, when victims speak up about their issues, they are often gaslighted or victim-shamed.

Cementing this is the incident of a girl who was abused after she refused to provide sexual services in a rent-a-date experience. The girl by the handle @lxlxl666 has taken to TikTok to share her story.

Girl Verbally Abused by Date after Refusing to Provide Sexual Services in Rent-a-Date Experience

The video begins showing the point-of-view perspective of the girl in a moving car looking out the window. In the background, there is audible shouting of a man (assumed date of the girl in the rent-a-date experience).

On text, she wrote that the “male client was extremely aggressive” and “asked (her) for sexual services”. When she declined and said that the platform only offered “friendly dates”, he started fuming and shouted loudly.

The man’s words were incoherent and the girl repeatedly asked him to drop her off. “You better drop me off,” she demanded.

Driving her to a foreign area, the man did not let her leave.

Drive too high, drive her awry.

“I was ready to jump out of the moving car because I was that scared,” the text read.

They debated on calling the girl’s agent but the man still did not let her leave.

Only after threatening that she would call the police did the man release the lady. Prior to the date, the man had paid $200 up front for the date and paid the rest before the lady left but as she left, she threw the money back at him.

Victim-shaming

As the incident unfolded in the car, the girl was texting her agent concurrently. Nonchalantly, the agent requested for her to “relax first”.

After the girl had left the car, her agent finally called her. Instead of asking about her condition, he questioned her, “What did you do to trigger him?”

By this time, the victim recounted that she was crying and shaking in fear, but not an ounce of empathy was shown by her agent.

Coldly, he blamed her for throwing the money at the client, completely leaping past the elephant in the room.

Ridiculous.

Moving on, he chided her for breaching safety violations and entering the man’s car. She has argued that the man was to blame, but her agent insisted that she had a part to play in this too.

“There was siding with the aggressive male client, blame and lack of empathy towards the victim, and lack of professionalism,” the girl remarked.

Company Problems

We’ve already established the problems in the company the girl had in the car. Now let’s dive into the problems of her agency.

Before that, we have to understand a bit about her history.

The girl shared that she has “been to so many safe dates with rb (Rent Babe, a rent-a-date agency) before where the safety of the girls was a priority”, in suggestion that this company was not Rent Babe.

After the incident, she brought her complaints up to this new company. To her dismay, her email was sent to her agent. All her issues about her “injustice” and her voicing out about “future safety regulations for other girls” were swept under the rug.

“Such an ineffective feedback system,” she added.

On top of this, she has suggested for the aggressive male client to be banned from the app for the safety of other girls. However, the request was denied by her agent.

She explained that in Rent Babe, her old company, if there were “any complaints by the girls of how the male clients were inappropriate/aggressive, the client would immediately be banned.”

Although she has not explicitly stated the name of the company, she has dropped several hints.

In a comment, she has written that “I think there’s only 2 in sg” and “it’s not rb”. Apart from Rent Babe, the other agency for rent-a-date services in Singapore is Maybe, suggesting that this was the company.

She has also posted another comment saying: “MAYBE i’ll give a hint…”, once again pointing to the identity of the company being Maybe.

She finished off by saying, “I am shocked by how they treat their girls, with no regard for their safety.”

The Line of Work

In this line of work, the girls are placing themselves in a position of potential danger.

The rent-a-date experience opens up an avenue for a date and a client to engage in a non-sexual activity together with privacy. In other words, there is no one monitoring the date and no security is provided to the girl in any way.

“In this line of work where women are especially vulnerable, our safety should be prioritised first over the male clients,” she argued.

Because her safety was utterly neglected by not only the client but also her agent, this incident drew much response.

Netizens’ Response

In the video’s comment section, many extended their sympathies, saying that they were sorry that she had to go through this and that they felt bad for her. Netizens also expressed their disgust towards the man as well as the agent.

Some gave warnings such as to “never enter a stranger’s car” and to “call the police immediately”.

There were also others who probed more on the issue, trying to find the company’s name (which was finally discovered, though not officially) and the agent’s identity.

Finally, there were those who encouraged her to take action, such as leaving her job or making a police report.

Text in the Video

Below is the text featured in the video:

I went on a paid date and my male client was extremely aggressive. He asked me for sexual services but I told him that this platform does not offer that kind of services; just friendly dates, and he got aggressive.

This went on for quite some time before the video was taken. He drove me to some ulu place and did not let me out of the car. I was ready to jump out of the moving car because I was that scared. I was shaking the entire time and was contacting my agent on text.

He only let me out after I told him that I would call the police and when I threw back his money at him.

Worst of all, I got victim-blamed by my agent. My agent called me after I finally got out of the car and asked me “what did you do to trigger him?”

Note that at this point of time I was already shaking with fear, crying, and still feeling unsafe and not an ounce of empathy was expressed by my agent.

Throughout the incident I was texting my agent for help but he said “relax first”

Over the call with my agent, he was cold and blamed me. He said that he called the client and got the client’s side of the story, and was scolding me for throwing back the money at the client.

When I said that the aggressive client must be banned immediately for the safety of the girls, he said that he can’t do that.

I don’t understand why was I, the girl who was facing an aggressor, questioned a lot and not believed?

I emailed the company to voice out about my injustice and future safety regulations for other girls, and my agent got the email. Such an ineffective feedback system.

Before you say that I was at fault for not thoroughly knowing the terms and conditions of not entering the man’s car, this issue goes larger than that. No matter what line of work, no one should face any form of violence and inequality.

In this line of work where women are especially vulnerable, our safety should be prioritised first over the male clients.

Instead, there was siding with the aggressive male client, blame and lack of empathy towards the victim, and lack of professionalism.

I’ve been to so many safe paid dates with rb (Rent Babe) before where the safety of the girls was a priority. Any complaints by the girls of how the male clients were inappropriate/aggressive, the client would immediately be banned.

So how my agent responded to me in this current company is appalling.

I am shocked by how they treat their girls, with no regard for their safety. Us girls go through a more rigorous screening process than the men though our safety is at higher risk.

@lxlxl666 Exposing the company that put my safety at risk. I am posting this to create awareness about the truth of paid dates. Women’s safety should be prioritised, especially when there’s young girls on this platform. #paiddates #Sgtiktok #fyp ♬ Get You The Moon – Kina
