Everyone has someone they look up to and want to emulate.
A young aspiring footballer might religiously follow Cristiano Ronaldo’s strict diet and training routine every day to achieve great things in his own league.
A budding chef might watch Gordon Ramsey’s cooking shows and start peppering his speech with vulgarities because that’s what he believes great chefs do.
As for this man, it seems like the only person he truly wanted to be in life, was a criminal from GTA.
GTA in S’pore As Tasered Man Ran Away from 6 Police Officers at Esplanade Drive
There are some things you don’t often see in Singapore.
Bubble tea stores without queues, empty Singapore Pools outlets, and people getting tasered by the police.
That last one, however, occurred recently, and it was captured on camera.
In a video posted to the Facebook page Beh Chia Lor, a man was seen arguing and tussling with police officers before getting tasered in the chest.
–
At the start of the 45-second video, a man in a white shirt is seen arguing with six officers in the middle of a road along Esplanade Drive.
It’s not known what the argument was about, but the man seems uncooperative, which prompts one officer to point a taser gun at him.
Now, when a taser gun is pointed directly at you by a police officer, there are a couple of things you can do:
- Stay where you are and comply with the officer’s instructions
- Back away slowly and comply with the officer’s instructions
Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, this man chose to walk towards the officer, which leads to him getting tasered in the chest.
At first, the man tries to fight the pain and even swings at the officer, but he soon crumples to the floor and can be heard howling in pain.
But somehow, even after getting tasered, the man staggers to his feet, approaches a car that had stopped at the side, before struggling with the officers and fleeing the scene.
One of the officers tries to grab the man but gets a big whack across the face for his efforts, and the man starts running away with speeds that Usain Bolt would be proud of.
He removes his shirt, while running, and takes off into the unknown, with four officers trailing behind.
And to make things even more dramatic, the chase occurred in the middle of a big traffic junction.
Strict Guidelines For Use of Tasers
According to a 2014 TNP report, a police spokesman said there are strict guidelines for the use of tasers, which was first implemented at two neighbourhood police centres (NPCs) in July 2005.
In the past, tasers have been used in incidents involving subjects who were physically violent or were armed with dangerous weapons.
The deployment of tasers allows officers to subdue subjects without causing serious injuries to anyone, the spokesman said.
It is, however, mighty painful.
TNP reported that being tasered feels like thousands of nails being hammered into your body; it is incredibly painful and will incapacitate you immediately.
Which means that this man must secretly be a mutant from the Marvel universe because he managed to run away just seconds after being tasered.
Some say the man is still running away somewhere in Singapore, without his shirt, with four men and women in blue behind him.
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
