Here’s What Happened To Megan Fox, Every 90s Guy’s Dream Girl

Who remembers Megan Fox?

I am talking about this brunette bombshell who graced magazine covers the likes of Maxim and FHM:

Yes, she may have fallen under the radar over the last few years, but with her recent guest arc in the sitcom, New Girl, she might have just climbed her way back to the top.

But why was she knocked to the bottom, to begin with?

Well, let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?

The rise of her stardom

She became a worldwide sensation in 2007 when Michael Bay cast her to be in the Transformers movie franchise, opposite Shia Labeouf of Even Stevens fame.

But her Transformers fame was short-lived when she gave a scathing interview about Michael Bay to Wonderland magazine circa 2009.

She said: God, I really wish I could go loose on this one. He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him.
Yes, she just compared him to a man who wrecked havoc in Europe.

To which Michael Bay responded in a GQ interview: “She was in a different world, on her BlackBerry. You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven [Spielberg] said, “Fire her right now.”

Her co-star, Shia LaBeouf also commented on the situation.

“Criticism is one thing. Then there’s public name-calling, which turns into high school bashing. Which you can’t do. She started shit-talking our captain.”

With every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction—she got fired from the third movie of the Transformers film.

Post-Transformers fame

After that huge debacle, her acting chops were average at best, garnering a slew of Razzie nominations (an award ceremony that highlights the worst movies of the year) for her roles in movie such as Jennifer’s Body, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and of course, the sequel of Transformers.

Her stereotypical roles

The mother of three ( YES, SHE IS A MOTHER NOW) also mentioned how she was pigeonholed as only a vixen and she vowed never to star in an X-rated scene again as she wouldn’t want her kids viewing it.

In a way, this could work to her advantage, allowing her to flex her acting skills as opposed to appearing as the damsel in distress who is always donning overtly sexy clothes.

So, where does that lead Megan Fox to?

She could be a scream queen but that doesn’t really add a layer of complexity that she desires since most of them end up dead halfway through the film—remember Paris Hilton’s infamous death scene in House of Wax?

She can take up lead heroine roles but with the whole Michael Bay saga still fresh in every filmmaker’s memories, it will seem like an impossible feat to achieve.

How about comedy?

You would argue that she doesn’t have the “quirky” factor to pull it off since she is flawless in every sense of the word.

But think again…

Megan Fox is now a foxy comedy queen

Well, it might be too soon to say that she is the comedy queen, especially when there are comedic actresses like Mindy Kaling, Amy Schumer and Rebel Wilson reigning the box office.

But her recent gig in New Girl albeit short, favoured positive reviews by critics as she played the new roommate while Zoey Deschanel’s character was away on jury duty.

She will also be staring at an upcoming comedy film called Zeroville with James Franco (the hotter Franco brother in my opinion).

This is by no means an iconic comeback but there is still a ray of hope for Megan Fox, if not she could be a domestic goddess like Chrissy Teigen!
