About four days ago, we published an article about a new WhatsApp feature, in which you’ll be able to bold and italicise your text in the next WhatsApp version.
Little did we expect the feature to be out so soon—yesterday, it was unveiled, and all you need to do is to update your WhatsApp to the latest version (or let it update by itself).
Do note that however, if you’ve updated your WhatsApp and your recipient has yet to, he or she will not see the bold, italic or strikethrough in his or her phone.
Okay, so you’ve updated? Here’s the guide.
Bold Simply add * before and after what you want to bold. For example, *I am a boy* will become I am a boy.
Italic Simply add _ before and after what you want to italicise. For example, _I am a boy_ will become I am a boy.
Strikethrough Simply add ~ before and after what you want to strikethrough. For example, ~I am a boy ~ will become I am a boy.
If you want to, you can combine them together. For example, _*I am a boy*_ will become I am a boy.
If possible, avoid having a punctuation mark just beside the text, as they might interfere with the text effects. Add a space if you intend to have a punctuation mark.
According to several sources, you can even strikethrough an emoji, though that isn’t confirmed yet.
Now, happy WhatsApping!
