Taiwanese singer, actor, and racecar driver Jimmy Lin’s Tesla quite literally burst into flames after crashing into an electrical pole. But don’t worry, as Lin and his son were rescued by passers-by.
Here’s what happened.
Tesla Crashed into Electrical Pole
According to a post on Jimmy Lin’s Facebook page, he was driving at the time of the accident. The 47-year-old Lin was in the Tesla with his son.
He was driving along Zhongzheng North Road in Luzhu District, Taoyuan City, at about 10:51am on 22 July. When he made a U-turn, his Tesla ended up veering to the right lane and collided into an electrical pole at the road divider.
The white Tesla then burst into flames.
Father and Son Rescued, Taken to Hospital
Lin and his son were rescued from the flaming Tesla by passers-by. They were subsequently taken to Linkou Chang Gung Hospital for treatment.
Lin fractured some bones in his face and shoulder, while his son suffered minor injuries to his face. Lin is under medical observation, but his condition is stable.
Lin’s studio thanked passers-by for their help in pulling Lin and his son out of the car.

Firefighters Came to Extinguish Flames
It was reported that emergency services received a call for assistance at about 10:50am. Firefighters arrived at the scene to extinguish the flames, while the badly damaged white Tesla was lifted up by a crane onto a truck.
The Taiwanese police have confirmed that Lin wasn’t driving under the influence of alcohol. Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
