Singapore’s golden boy JJ Lin is down with COVID-19.
While he wasn’t fortunate enough to suffer no symptoms, he reported on his social media account that the symptoms are mild.
What Happened
According to Lin’s agency, Lin had just returned to Singapore from Los Angeles.
When he arrived here on Thursday, he took an antigen rapid test (ART) and tested negative.
When Lin reached home, he was informed that he was in close contact with a COVID-19 patient.
Lin immediately isolated and monitored himself.
Testing Positive
Later, Lin felt he had a sore throat and decided to do another ART.
This time, he tested positive.
In his social media post, Lin said he suffers from a mild sore throat, chills and headaches.
He added that he hope the symptoms will go away soon.
There Are People in Worse Situations Out There
Nonetheless, Lin focused on the fact that there are other people in worse situations out there.
“As frustrating and disheartening as it can get, I am reminded that there are so many who have also gone through (or are still going through) similar or worse situations…”
This, Lin says, includes the people who are “dedicating their lives to protecting and supporting the community”.
With this thought, he added, he is more motivated to recover.
Lin ended his message on a hopeful note, assuring fans that he will be “well in no time”.

Netizens’ Reactions
JJ Lin has a lot of fans from around the world.
A fellow singer, Hong Junyang, was one of the few celebrities to wish JJ Lin a speedy recovery.
“Take care, brother. Get well soon! I’ve been through (it), I guide u.”
Hong and his six-year-old daughter were infected with COVID-19 back in March 2022.
Other netizens were relieved that Lin managed to make his way back to Singapore before testing positive.
At least this way, Lin’s parents can take care of him while he’s recovering.
Several fans have also said that they’ll be with him (morally, at least) every step of the way.
