Everyone in Singapore knows you cannot bring a durian into public transport because, for some weird reason, some people think durians are smelly.

(Are they even human?)

However, it seems like Hong Kong singer Kelly Chen isn’t aware of that rule.

Kelly Chen & Entourage Finished Up Durians Outside Airport After Realizing They Were Banned on Planes

On 29 March, during Chen’s Season 2 World Tour concert in Genting Highlands, she recounted her initial encounter with Musang King durians in Malaysia, expressing her love for the king of fruits.

Chen and her team, eager to bring the fruit back to Hong Kong, packed their luggage with durians.

Yes, luggage filled with durians.

However, upon reaching the airport, the staff stopped them.

Chen was then informed that durians were prohibited on flights.

Refusing to waste the fruit, Chen and her entourage swiftly consumed the durians outside the airport.

That must have been the best moment of her tour.

She jokingly admitted her newfound knowledge about vacuum-packing durians and playfully requested her fans to purchase some for her, a request they happily fulfilled…in the form of a cake.

On 2 April 2024, Chen posted a photo with a durian cake, thanking her Malaysian fans for the thoughtful gift.

Well, someone please tell Chen that you really cannot replace durians with durian cakes.
