It’s mid-December and we are fast approaching Christmas which is generally a whole lot of fun and fat.
For teachers however, it is an especially tricky period to deal with, what with the upcoming school year, curriculum planning, countless unproductive meetings with their HODs and what not amidst their gift exchanges.
Just last week, we commended the acts of two teachers in our article here. If you haven’t yet read it, its basically how a non-strawberry mum (who herself is a teacher) gave her two cents worth about the role of teachers in Singapore and the public’s treatment of them.
This, citing the example of how she actually gave two thumbs up to a childcare teacher who had chided her child for good reason.
Being a teacher is really a thankless task yah.
Reddit/Facebook Evidence
Well if that article shared above was for every painfully rare and right thing in our society, the following is surely not.
Singapore Facebook user Matchy Matchy uploaded a lengthy Whatsapp conversation on Facebook which has since garnered 1.1K comments and 6.1K shares.
The Whatsapp exchange was originally uploaded to Reddit by user u/pretent_its_witty, who claims to be a swimming teacher.
The exchange revolved around u/pretent_its_witty’s conversation with ‘Aunty’ whose child was one of the students u/pretent_its_witty was teaching.
The original post on the subreddit, Choosing Beggars, has since garnered 110,000 upvotes, with two votes from my super fat + self-entitled boss and myself.
It’s tad long, but trust me, it’s worth every single word.
The Low-Down
As we believe in not 1, nor 2, but at least 3 ways of making life easier for our readers here at Goody Feed, let us run you through what happened if viewing a screenshot ain’t your cup of tea.
u/pretent_its_witty, a FOC (free of charge lah) swimming teacher, basically demonstrated super-human patience, AMEX customer-service professionalism and Queen’s Guard-level restraint not to have uttered a single foul-mouth retort to this mad-woman of an ‘Aunty’
While explaining why she wasn’t able to conduct his free swimming lessons on a certain day, ‘Aunty’ proceeds to lecture her on why she MUST conduct one for her child, INDIVIDUALLY, and INSTRUCTED u/pretent_its_witty to bring ” him [the child] a extra pair tomorrow or let him use yours until I buy one.”
For good measure, ‘Aunty’ even DEMANDED money from her claiming that she was “privileged” and no need for said money.
I mean seriously, just take a look at these gems that would even put Queen Elizabeth II’s jewels to shame.
Side Note: Her jewel collection has a freakin’ Wiki page? What the.

But this just takes the cake.
Hey u/pretent_its_witty, if you are reading this article and haven’t yet deleted ‘Aunty’ from your contact list, rename her contact to b***h won’t you?
