Heck yea!

According to Stomp, a hole ‘magically’ appeared on a corridor wall at a HDB block in Punggol.

The hole is found to be about 50cm in diameter.

Residents were (obviously) worried about this “phenomenon”.

Where did it come from?

Will it be dangerous for the kids?

What if mosquitoes start to breed?

57-year-old Mr Chen, a real estate agent, explained that the hole appeared on the wall which is just outside a client’s unit.

Apparently, the hole has been there all along, but was covered by a shoe rack.

“As the client is often working overseas, he decided to rent out his house. At the end of January 2018, the new tenants requested to replace the shoe rack.

“My client asked his sister to remove the shoe rack, and found the hole behind.”

The HDB has been alerted about this incident, which will be handled by the town council.

Until then, the hole has already been covered up with a wooden plank.

You can fit bricks of 10cm in thickness in the hole.

There was enough space for a small table behind the wall and the ceiling is directly above it.

A concerned resident said: “From the start, the kids in the neighbourhood would play in the corridors. We were worried that some of the more naughty ones will crawl in and get stuck.

“The consequences could be serious. Secondly, we are also worried that there may be a pool of water collecting due to the recent wet weather. This could be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.”

The residents have no idea how the hole came about.

A spokesman for Pasir Ris – Punggol Town Council said that reparation works are in order.

The spokesman added: “Our staff have implemented measures to prevent water from accumulating within the hole, and stop the breeding of mosquitoes. In addition, we will also seal the hole to prevent the possibility of an accident.”

Scary, indeed, but it certainly is a peculiar sight for sure.

But why was the hole covered up instead of being reported to the authorities in the first place?

Is there something that the owner is trying to … cover up?
