Before you read this, share this with your family and friends. Yes, right now.
Why?
Because it has been just released in the news that certain batches of London Choco Roll (double choco milk cream cake) have been summoned back after mould was found in a few pieces of the cake.
One of the Goody Feed peeps was eating a London Choco Roll at that time and…
Yeah…
The affected batches are those expiring on:
- Aug 29, 2018 (packing size 28x20g)
- Sep 1, 2018 (packing size 6x20g)
So go ahead, check that label on your London Choco Roll and remove them from reach.
So what happened?
According to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), the mould could have been caused by a “sealing defect” during the production process.
Therefore, the importer has voluntarily recalled specific batches of the London Choco Roll (double choco milk cream cake) as a precaution.
It is advised that if your London Choco Rolls are expiring on 29 Aug 2018 and 1 Sep 2018, don’t eat them.
You can exchange your London Choco Roll (who would?) or refund with the local distributor at [email protected].
I did a bit of detective work (read: browse their website) and found something very interesting
Have you ever felt utterly betrayed? Like, really, really betrayed?
Yeah, that’s how my colleague, Boon Hun, felt after discovering this. London Choco Roll is not from London. In fact, it is manufactured by a Malaysian company, London Biscuit Berhad.
It was incorporated in 1981 but changed hands to the Liew family in 1994.
Just an interesting tidbit for those who didn’t know.
