Yishun.

Where do I start?

Yishun definitely has a bad rep, from “Lord Voldemort” terrorizing the neighbourhood to horrifying cat killings.

There is even a horror trailer about Yishun, that will have you avoiding the place.

Not forgetting Netflix’s brilliant marketing move using Yishun to promote the sci-fi thriller series, Stranger Things

But things are starting to look up.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Yishun is home to our first female President—Halimah Yacob and a super high-tech hipster hawker centre that just opened up recently.

To add on to the good news, a 19-year old suspect was arrested in regards to motorcycle thefts that was happening all over Singapore.

Wait-what?

According to Stomp, the police received a theft report of a motorcycle on Sep 19, around 11:34 pm at Block 247, Yishun Avenue 9.

Police officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division were part of the investigation. They caught the suspect on Sep 22 at about 5:30 pm at Yishun Avenue 11.

He was charged in court on Sep 23 with the offence of theft of a motor vehicle.

If found guilty, he will be liable to an imprisonment term of up to seven years (in Azkaban, lol, just kidding) and a fine.

I guess since “Lord Voldemort” has been caught, there might be dementors lurking around, to keep things safe.

But it’s okay, Yishun, you’re not alone.

Because a huge pipe just opened up in Bukit Batok West and it springs water even better than Singapore’s very own mutant animal: the Merlion.
