But how would you react to getting dumped?

Maybe some sessions of 打小人.

Or crying your eyes out.

But not this man, oh no. Wait till you hear about what he did.

Plus, a sort of closure to the SCDF NSF’s death case you’d not want to miss.

Man Threw Faeces at Ex-GF at ION Orchard Road For Dumping Him

This 48-year-old man started harassing his ex-girlfriend after she dumped him on Sep 2017.

He was a married man who had an affair with the 28-year-old woman and even stayed together for a year.

Both of them worked together at a chicken rice stall.

On 15 Aug, he threatened her with a chopper after an argument.

In the following month, she moved out of his home and broke up with him.

Extremely unhappy, he found out where her new job was.

On 26 Sep, he collected his faeces in a plastic bag (???). The next day, he went down to her new workplace at ION Orchard Road and threw the contents at her while her back was turned.

Shit was splattered over her left arm and her colleague’s face.

And because he’s full of shit, the faeces also splattered onto the next shop, resulting in them having to throw away the food prepared.

Loss and damages suffered by both business were reported to be more than $5,000.

Wait, there’s more

If you think that was bad (and childish) enough, there’s more.

On 11 Nov, the man appeared when the woman was waiting for her bus at the bus stop.

He pushed her against the notice board and punched her in the face. He also bit her in the face, pulled her nose and scratch her neck before running away.

Then, he stole from the cash donation box at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum.

The man has been sentenced to two years and two months jail on 14 May 2018.

Girls, remember to pick your guys carefully because if you meet shitheads like him, you’re in deep shit.

This time, literally.

Oh, by the way, we just happen to have a very handsome dude in the office who’s single and available right now.

Sembawang GRC MP: Millennials Don’t Reach For 5Cs, But Have The #YOLO Mindset

Image: channelnewsasia.com

Millennials, good news for you! The government knows what you really want.

Dr Maliki Osman, MP for Sembawang GRC, raised up this issue in parliament on 17 May.

He mentioned that unlike the older generation of Singaporeans, the dream of millennials today isn’t to achieve the 5Cs (Condominium, Car, Cash, Club Memberships and Credit Cards).

Instead, millennials today have the You Only Live Once (#YOLO) mindset.

Millennials are more focused on the journey than the endpoint. The process must be exciting, meaningful, fun and interesting.

Not only must Singapore be able to provide leisure and exciting activities for the millennials, the Singapore government must also redesign the way they engage and provide services to young Singaporeans.

The key, he said, is to make young Singaporeans be part of something great, be responsible for building something they can be proud of.

In other words, the 4G team has taken the President’s words (which were drafted by them) to mind.

Minister For National Development: There’s Still Value in Old Flats

If you need a refresher, the value of older flats in Singapore plunged when Mr Lawrence Wong said that the Selected En Bloc Redevelopment Scheme is exactly that, selected.

In other words, not all will be redeveloped.

So Singaporeans, whether they be speculators or not, are now leery of buying older flats because, well, they want to pass on something with value to their children.

And with the future unclear on what will happen to their flats when the lease is reached, it’s no wonder that not many are willing to risk it all on an old flat.

On 17 May, Mr Wong said during the parliamentary debate that older flats still has value.

It all depends on the location, storey height and condition of the flat.

He assured everyone that whatever the price is, the proceeds from the sale will be more than enough to downsize.

He claimed that in the past, people overly speculate on SERS, and now, they’re overly “anxious” about the value of their flats.

By the way, the rumour about not being able to use CPF to purchase flats isn’t true. He added that the government has no such plans to implement this.

He pledged that the government will do more to make the resale market better, including an HDB resale portal that can facilitate smoother transactions between buyers and sellers.

And since we’re on the topic of resale flats, here’s one that’ll make you more careful about flats you buy.

New Resale Flat Owner Harassed by Loan Sharks For Previous Owner Debt

We’ve heard horror stories about moving into a resale flat.

Leaking pipes, nightmare neighbours and more.

This man, who recently moved into a resale flat at Jurong, had the unfortunate luck to run into loan sharks.

This man, only known as Stomper L, moved into his Jurong flat in Aug 2017.

He had underwears hung outside his door but thought nothing of it. It was only when the police contacted him to assist in a case of unlicensed money lending that he knew what was going on.

Runners have it that they also knocked on his door twice, both of which were answered by his tenants.

According to him, the debt was owed by the previous owner of the house, Mr Lee.

He found his door splashed with yellow paint and a contact number written on a piece of paper tagged to his door.

He promptly lodged a police report and called the number, where he was informed that a woman surnamed Lai, allegedly the step-daughter of the previous owner, owed him about $20,000.

The loanshark enlisted L’s help to ask the previous owner to repay back the debt, but Mr Lee denied having any loans.

The loanshark even attempted to draft L into getting his money back but he refused as he would’ve become a loanshark’s runner then.

The police have confirmed that an official report was lodged and investigations are currently ongoing.

The loanshark said he’ll visit Mr Lee at his new address, but promised that runners will visit L’s house regularly until the debt is paid.

NSL Disruption During Peak Hour Yesterday: Not Signal Fault, is Door Fault

If you happened to take the North-south Line (NSL) MRT home after work, you’d have met with a troublesome issue.

Yes, another delay.

Image: memegenerator.net

Okay, but to be fair, it’s been a long time since SMRT had such a major breakdown. #AlwaysLookOnTheBrightSideofLife

This time, the disruption lasted for more than two hours.

And it’s not because of signal fault. It’s a malfunctioning platform screen door at Dhoby Ghaut.

At 6 pm, SMRT announced in a tweet that commuters should add 15 minutes to their travel time.

However, by 6.45 pm, commuters were advised to add 35 minutes to their travelling time.

Then at 7.40 pm, the commuters were told 45 minutes.

The fault was resolved at 8.10 pm and train systems were progressively restored.

It was only around two and a half hours later that normal train services resumed and SMRT stopped providing free bus services.

One commuter mentioned that his normal ten-minute trip from Toa Payoh to Somerset became a twenty minutes trip.

Another one said that her trip from Braddell to Dhoby Ghaut took 45 minutes.

Criminal Charges Most Likely To Be Made Over SCDF NSF’s Death

SCDF NSF Cpl Kok Yuen Chin’s body has been cremated.

And the powers-that-be of the SCDF has new updates for the public.

Law Minister K Shanmugam said on 17 May that criminal charges are almost certain for the death of Cpl Kok Yuen Chin, who was taking part in ORD celebrations.

He said that “there is no excuse” for the incident and they’re looking at new measures and rules to curb the culture of ragging.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and SCDF have made public all the information they could with ongoing investigations.

There are more but it would be inappropriate to share them at this point in time, he added.

He promised that everything relevant to the case will be made known to the public.
