In this seemingly endless pandemic, we the public have one very simple job to do.
All we have to do is to clap and sing for healthcare workers – I mean, stay at home and wear a mask if we have to go out.
But then, it doesn’t seem that simple for many people.
As the popularity of social media is on the rise especially in these times when everyone is stuck at home with nothing to do, being a keyboard warrior may be the favourite past time for many users.
Facebook has been the main weapons they use to attack anyone they think are not following circuit breaker rules – instead of you know, going up to talk to them like a normal human being. But I get it, they might be afraid of getting screamed in the face by a ‘Sovereign‘.
But here’s why doxxing isn’t an ideal tactic – you never know what the other person is going through.
Like this woman.
Woman Seen Not Wearing A Mask Has A Legit Excuse
If you see a recruit not doing push-ups when the entire platoon is getting punished, you know that he holds the sacred document of ultimate power that overpowers even all the commanders – an excuse letter.
That was the case for a 43-year-old woman as for an entire month, she has been warding off people who confront her about not wearing a mask.
Due to asthma problems, she is medically excused from wearing a mask even in public when she goes to work.

For most people, that would be it. And life has been peaceful for her. Until the last day.
Enforcement Officers Refused To Let Her Take Public Transport
On the last day of her excuse, a man and two enforcement officers confronted her just when she was about to board a bus.
You know, maybe they should give out certain special tags for these people so enforcement officers would automatically know they’re excused? Like the yellow tags in the army.
Just another day, another time to show off my Excuse Mask letter, she probably thought.
However, after showing that document of ultimate power, the enforcement officers stood their ground.
Despite the note from the doctor, the officers refused to let her board the bus but instead insisted that she took a taxi or they would slap her with a fine.
To avoid causing a scene, she left the bus interchange and called the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to confirm the rules – she was allowed to take public transport as long as she had the doctor’s memo.
However, after returning, the man who confronted her was gone. Instead, someone had called the police and she was held for questioning at the scene for two hours.
Fortunately, she was allowed to go home without further issues.
Do Not Pre-Judge
The woman has claimed that she shared this story so that members of the public would be more understanding and would not pre-judge people for not wearing masks.
She mentioned that many individuals had been very rude when confronting her about not wearing a mask.
You know, self-righteous people who should have signed on as a police officer but are still complaining about the Government on Facebook daily.
If you were at the bus interchange witnessing this, would you have pre-judged as an inconsiderate individual?
So, next time you see someone not wearing a mask, do not pre-judge.
