You Can Use Your NS55 Credits to Pay for Your McDonald’s Orders

Today, McDonald’s suddenly posted this in their social media platforms:

In it, they revealed that you can apparently redeem your NS55 credits in all McDonald’s outlets in Singapore.

Before you think that McDonald’s is now the new ATM, hold your horses; what they meant is that you can pay for your Laksa Burger with your NS55 credits, and not that you can withdraw them as cash.

While this seems like something new, the function has been available since last month. What’s new is that they’ve now officially announced this, though prior to that, they’ve already had a FAQs in their website on how to redeem it.

It’s almost like McDonald’s announcing that Filet-O-Fish is now available in all outlets, but anyways.

How It Works

It actually works quite similar to how you’ve used your NS55 vouchers elsewhere.

Simply use your LifeSG app to pay for your meals instead.

If you’re new to it, just download the LifeSG app, log in with your Singpass and your credits are automatically credited there if you’re eligible.

The NS55 vouchers are for anyone who has served NS or are serving NS, and so far, the only way to use them is through the LifeSG app. For people who can’t do that, they’d have to contact the NS55 Call Centre (1800-723-6755 or [email protected]) to request for physical vouchers instead.

For McDonald’s, the digital vouchers can only be used in the store for dine-in, Drive-Thru and takeaway, and cannot be used for delivery.

If you’re using the self-ordering kiosk, choose the “cash option” instead and follow the instructions after that.
