The mooncakes from Holiday Inn is baked in-house by the prestigious Xin Cuisine Chinese Restaurant. Familiar bestsellers like Low Sugar White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk Mooncake and Peranakan Durian Mooncake are back on the menu this year.

Some people love it, some people wholeheartedly despise it. Peach Garden has a flavour that truly stands out: Assorted Nuts with Kam Hua Ham. You read that right – the mooncake contains savoury ham.

If you want truly atas mooncakes, Shang Palace has exactly what you need: Signature Mini Baked Custard with Bird’s Nest (S$120/box of eight), crafted by the restaurant’s Executive Chef Mok Kit Keung.
This year, they also have a limited edition Peranakan-Inspired Gift Box Set by Benny Ong, who is an international fashion designer and artist.
It consists of four savoury mooncakes filled with bak kwa, pork floss and nuts; their taste probably just as polarizing as Peach Garden’s ham mooncake.
Unfortunately, none of the special edition mooncakes is discounted.
