“Marriage is like a prison cell, except that it’s more atas-sounding, traps you with a female instead of males and you don’t have to widen your eyes when you drop the soap.” – Goodyfeed Boss 2k17
To which (at the risk of being fired for serial insubordination) I don’t exactly agree, Boss, because I haven’t had a girlfriend before. Lucky me, huh?
…
Sorry, just let me go google a list of men who died virgins to make myself feel a lil’ better.
Anyway, it seems that a Malaysian groom had the privilege of experiencing the whole “marriage is like a prison cell” experience. Literally.
For just recently, a Malaysian man was reportedly detained hours after his wedding reception for allegedly “fighting police seeking to arrest one of his guests”.
What happened?
On Sunday evening (10 December), officers appeared at the wedding party in a hotel ballroom ballroom to “arrest a man accused of involvement in numerous crimes”. The party had been held in the northern city of Alor Setar.
But a group of roughly 40 men, including the 35-year-old groom, tried their best to deter police from detaining the suspect at the party.
Well I know it’s morally wrong to say this, but…
“A scuffle took place and the groom threw a glass at my men, injuring one of the officers on his left hand,” local police official Mohamad Rozi Jidin was quoted as saying by The Star newspaper.
Detained
As the wedding guests “interacted” with the police, the wanted man, 38, saw his chance and fled out of a back door.
But things soon took a sharp twist, as officers visited the groom’s home in the early hours the following day to “pick him up”.
And the poor groom obviously didn’t take kindly to it, as it was reported that further scuffles broke out while they were trying to detain him. Honestly I would do the same thing too.
After all, it’s one thing for your new wife to nudge you playfully in the middle of the night; it’s another thing for a grown ass man to poke you in the middle of the night for a late night walk.
Here’s wishing the groom an early release
Yeah I know, I know. The groom was undoubtedly in the wrong, seeing how he obstructed the police and injured an officer in the process.
But I can’t help but root for him, you know? There’s a real bro, right there. I might be particularly cynical here, but there ain’t many grooms out there who will risk their consummation night to help a bro in need out.
So yeah, here’s wishing him an early release.
And if I were to give the politically correct answer, here’s wishing that the actual suspect will be detained soon too.
