Okay, KFC now has a “truffle-flavoured” chicken. But is it too late?

Guys, remember the truffle trend, when everything “truffled” is supposed to be good?

Yeah, me too. I’ve, just like you, moved on to churros bingsu salted egg yolk the good old fashioned bak kut the now. In other words, when I saw this video, I didn’t go apeshit, not like when I first saw the truffle fries in McDonald’s.

But giving credit where credit is due, when I tried it, it’s actually pretty good. The combination of cheese and truffle is like a match made in heaven, with the soft and smooth taste of the creamy cheese and the tough and hot feel of the truffle. They balanced out pretty well—and as for the chicken, it’s KFC, so you either love it or hate it (I’m loving it I love it).

The only thing is that to me, truffle is sort of out—in fact, the only reason why I “truffled” everything last year was because everyone else was “truffling”. To me, it has always tasted like an atas wasabi.

But now, there’s something that apparently tastes good instead of tastes “trending”, so is it too late? I hope KFC won’t come out with a salted egg fried chicken in 2027.

Anyway, the new Parmesan Chicken is now available in Singapore KFC outlets.
