Pompompurin fans, we regret to bring you this piece of bad news.
Your beloved cafe is closing soon.
On this Sunday, August 20, to be exact.
Located in Orchard Central, Pompompurin Cafe which features Sanrio’s adorable golden mascot was popular for its cutesy character themed dishes!
Back in April 2016, when they just opened, Singaporeans went crazy over it.
(There were over 1k likes!)
Some netizens have been especially emotional about it.
While some were eager to go before it closes.
They did not disclose reasons for their closure, but some have speculated that it was because of sky-high rental costs.
Others just think it’s a fad that’s bound to pass.
And then there’s their expensive food.
As of now, there are no discounts or promotions to mark the end of their tenure, but I’m sure you would want to check out their cute concept and characters before they are gone permanently!
Alternatively, you can also head down to Gudetama cafe at Suntec City, as well as Hello Kitty Orchid Garden Cafe at Changi Airport!
As for me, I’ll just stick to watching the cartoon online and eating my maggie mee. Thanks.
Address: 181 Orchard Rd, #04-08, Singapore 238896
Opening hours: 11 am to 10.30 pm
