3 Primary School Students Help Elderly Woman Push Her Trolley Filled with Cardboard Boxes

Youngsters nowadays may admittedly be pretty wild, with their over-the-top antics on platforms such as Tik Tok, but it seems that the younger generation is still largely familiar with the notion of kindness.

Just two days ago (7 August 2021), an elderly lady was caught struggling with a cart full of cardboard boxes. Much to the chagrin of any kind-hearted benefactor, I’m sure.

Yet, just when her ordeal seemed endless, three primary school students emerged to save the day.

Which is undoubtedly heartening considering the circumstances everyone has been through.

On 7 August 2021, Facebook page ROADS.sg posted a heartwarming video on the social media platform.

In the 0:50 clip, an elderly woman could be seen struggling with a cart piled high with cardboard boxes.

It appeared to be stuck.

Three primary school students were, however, on site to help out, alongside another lady who appeared to be leading them.

The three students allegedly turned up of their own accord to help out.

The scene was a sight to behold for many bystanders, one of whom had shared the video with ROADS.sg.

“BEAUTIFUL…” the Netizen commented.

“Humanity exist when we are children. Saw an old lady pushing cardboard trolley. While crossing the traffic light, she struggled.”

The Netizen then pointed out that the children endeavoured to help her, and it was a beautiful sight.

“Very beautiful to see how pure the children’s heart is.”

The Netizen also commended the helpful lady, who appears to have joined afterwards.

“Kudos to this lady who had led the kids.”

It has, however, also caused a divided comments section, with Netizens sharing different sentiments.

Though some lauded the act in question, others wondered about the nearby bystanders and drivers.

“Omg he rather video them from the car, instead of getting out there to help,” one commented. “Human is selfish sometime.”

And another even threatened legal action.

“I can’t stand driver using mobile phone,” the Netizen said. “What the heck is all these driver doing? TP please take action as is illegal to used mobile in front of traffic junction.”

Meanwhile, a Netizen wondered whether the kids should have stayed “out of harm’s way” instead.

“Doesn’t look like something a pri sch students can handle, need more muscle power from sec sch students,” the Netizen commented.

“Also considering the kids are so close to the road, if they trip or fall, they are in harm’s way. Effort but they r kids afterall, prefer them safe and leave it to stronger ppl.”

If you’re wondering why this small act is considered “newsworthy” or even posted online, you should watch this video to the end to learn more about why people post their good deeds online:
