Two Singaporean Caught In Raid

It is definitely not the first time a drug raid has happened in Singapore and it is definitely not the first time someone was caught.

The arrest happens at Ang Mo Kio on Monday, 6 September 2019, where a 34-year-old and 58-year-old man was caught.

Both suspects were arrested after leaving the unit as reported by CNA.

The 34-year-old man had two packets of drugs on him when he was arrested.

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) also discovered drug utensils and five packets of powdery substances in the flat they were seen leaving from.

A New Psychoactive Substance

CNB has said that the substances founds are believed to contain Class A controlled drug and is commonly known as “mushrooms”.

This drug is said to have the effects of other Class A controlled drugs such as cocaine and ecstasy.

Investigations are still ongoing and if found guilty of trafficking Class A controlled drugs, the suspects will face at least 5 years’ jail and five strokes of the cane.

Side Effects Of “Mushrooms”

Not the same mushroom that your mum cooks for you.

The drug, mushroom, is known for causing hallucinations.

Some psychological effects include disorientation, anxiety, paranoia and depression while physical effect are drowsiness, numbness and increased heart rate

The long-term side effects include flashbacks, memory problems and increase risk of mental illness.

And we all know the consequences of drugs usage or trafficking is huge; a man was just sentenced to death for drug trafficking this year.
