Queues at Shanghai Disneyland so Long, People Requested for a Refund

Have you guys ever been to a theme park during peak seasons? Like, making a trip to Universal Studios Singapore over a long weekend or on a public holiday?

Yeah, then you must understand how horrifying the queues can get during the festive seasons. I’ve been to Halloween Horror Nights once during the weekends(because free tickets), and I must say I’m never going to make the same mistake ever again(oh, the horror).

The scariest attraction at Halloween Horror Nights’ gotta be the queue and the crowd. A 2-hour queue for one ride? Sheesh, why am I even here?

Shouldn’t they limit the number of tickets or something?(Yeah yeah, I know, capitalism and business blah blah blah)

Either way, if you think things are bad in Singapore, wait till you see this video:

For the benefit of those who don’t speak Chinese, here’s a summary of the news report:

  • Crazy crowd at Shanghai Disneyland (Coz’ Lunar New Year period)
  • We’re talking approximately 90,000 people
  • 2-4 hours wait(wat) for popular attractions
  • Visitors angry
  • Starts protesting at the entrance of the theme park
  • Park stops selling tickets to control the crowd

And that’s pretty much the whole nine yards.

Before I start talking about anything else, let me say this:

Why would you go to Disneyland during the holidays?

Why would you still buy a ticket for Disneyland despite the crowd?

What were they thinking?!

In fact, some netizens are also asking the same question in the comments section!

“These people are so funny, insisting on going to the park despite knowing how bad the crowd will be…”

“The Lunar New Year period is like a landmine… Despite knowing that, these people just had to try their luck with the mine… Now they are demanding a refund…How ridiculous!!”

To be frank, this was the first image that came to my mind when I saw the news:

At the end of the day, making a trip to Disneyland during Lunar New Year is like asking for it. Even if Disneyland did not restrict ticket sales, you should have the common sense not to do something like this during the festive seasons!

That’s all, folks!
