Remember the most recent “Facebook war” between a business owner and a customer? You should, because it occurred just not too long ago.
Lest you think it’ll die off just like any Facebook war (remember, erm, Lavastone?), you’re wrong. There’s no ceasefire, and the fight continues online.
It’s just so strange just people nowadays tend to attack and defend on Facebook #justsaying
So, just a recap: a customer, Fawn Chia, went to Stickies Bar on 29 June 2017, and alleged that she has been told repeatedly by the security that her group has to leave at 12:00 a.m. (the closing time of the bar). Apparently, the security had come every five minutes to remind Fawn about the closing time since 11:15 p.m.
Fawn alleged that the security guard was rude, and subsequently wrote a one-star review on Stickies Bar’s Facebook Page.
That was the declaration of war.
Stickies Bar fought back with not-so-pretty language, and even called the customer a b**ch in Facebook. That wasn’t enough, so they shared that Facebook exchange in their Page.
The COE—CEO, I mean, which stands for Chief Executive Officer—then stood up for the bar, and even private messaged Fawn, this time with the same harsh language. Apparently, Fawn had, before she left, slapped some UNO Stacko tiles off the table and expected the staff to pick them all themselves.
Fawn apologized for her actions but stood by the fact that the business did her injustice, and the COE—CEO, sorry—regretted his choice of words but stood by the fact that he was just defending his staff, and did not want customers like Fawn in his establishment.
Stories here, stories there, then Stomp came in like a wrecking ball.
The COE provided a CCTV footage of what happened that night to Stomp, and in line with their style, shared it in their Facebook Page as well. Take a look.
Here’re a few things to note:
- The security guard wasn’t just talking to Fawn; he went around informing all customers, presumably, about the closing time
- There were more than one security guard
- The table closest to the CCTV left immediately after a guard spoke to them
Then again, let’s face it: the CCTV footage doesn’t give anyone any brownie points, because it seems like people are angry on what happened in Facebook instead of what happened in the bar.
Just saying.
(And by the way, Fawn Chia has stopped posting since her last post)
