…All right, I was trying to be dramatic there but it didn’t really work out. Just let me get into the specifics.
On Saturday (25 Nov), a security guard was seen slapping a man at Clarke Quay Central.
The two of them appeared to be involved in some sort of argument before the security guard turned violent.
Here, have a look for yourselves.

From the video, we can clearly see that both men were pretty agitated.
As it turns out, the security guard was telling the man not to sit at the stairs. The conversation somehow led to a full blown argument.
When the man in red approached the security guard, the security guard hit him on the right side of his face.
(Yeap)
Well, the security guard may have won the battle, but he had lost the war.
As a general rule of thumb: if you hit another person first, you’re in the wrong (I’m sure your teacher taught you that back in school).
The police were alerted to a case of voluntarily causing hurt at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday. They are currently looking into the matter.
Perhaps the security guard felt threatened by the approaching man and thought that it might be a good idea to deter the man by slapping him?
Either way, whatever his reasons may be, the damage has been done. Certis Cisco, the employer of the security guard, promptly fired him on Monday.
“…(Certis Cisco) shared the incident with the rest of our security staff and reiterated the importance of conducting themselves professionally when interacting with members of the public”, said the spokesperson from Certis Cisco.
It is true that attacking another person does not reflect well on the perpetrator.
And hey, it doesn’t reflect well on his company either. Always remember that if you’re wearing uniform (Not to say that you can attack another person when you’re not in uniform lah)! Let’s be civilised and keep our hands to ourselves, okay?
