The height of rich people problems? Needing to illegally park your cars (yes, multiple) by the roadside because… you own too many cars to fit in your property.
Sorry, can’t relate.
Is This A Road or Carpark?
The viral TikTok starts off with screenshots of messages saying that their cars were getting fined by LTA officers.
The video then cuts to a scene on the road, where disgruntled residents were talking to the officers.
A road sign is briefly seen, identifying the road as Penaga Place — located in a residential estate off Sembawang Road and opposite Sembawang Park.
From the video, we can see there’s a single white continuous line, running down the centre of the road. According to LTA’s rules, this means that no parking is allowed on either side of the road at all times.
However, we can clearly see cars being parked on both sides of the road, with some even against traffic. Oh, even a cute dog has come out to watch the commotion.
The video was captioned: “The whole neighbourhood wasn’t happy because LTA asked all of us park somewhere else…. BUT WHERE?!?”
Can’t Park Within Property ‘Cos Got Too Many Cars
People in the comments were unimpressed with the man’s complaints, pointing out that landed properties have a place to park within the property itself.
However, the creator of the TikTok clarified in the comments that most people living there own about three cars, and their property can only hold one car.
He also commented that there aren’t any proper parking lots built near their neighbourhood, which was why they had to park along the roads.

While some people suggested that they find a parking lot elsewhere and walk home, it does contradict the whole point of getting a car.
But getting three cars… well, if you can’t find a parking space and choose to park illegally, getting fined sounds like a you problem.
Honestly, for most of us who live in HDBs, we wish we had these problems. Maybe the neighbourhood can solve their parking issues by giving the cars to us instead?
