2023 will be the first year we celebrate Chinese New Year (CNY) without any COVID-19 visitation restrictions.
Are you excited to host your extended family and get asked the same old “do you have a girlfriend yet?” again by that auntie you only see once a year?
Many of us will host our extended families in our homes this CNY.
Are you worried that you might run out of drinks or hotpot sides? Fret not, as Sheng Shiong has got you covered.
26 Sheng Siong stores around Singapore will remain open from 8 am to 6 pm during the busy CNY festivities of Days 1 and 2.
Sheng Siong Opening Hours Before CNY
Our favourite supermarket chain, Sheng Siong, will be extending its opening hours for 15 stores that currently operate from 7 am to 11 pm, extending it to 24 hours till 20 January 2023. Sheng Siong is giving you time to stock up on your CNY goodies.
The following stores will be operating for 24 hours as of 1 January 2023:
- Anchorvale 338
- Bukit Batok 451
- Tampines 602A
The following stores will be operating for 24 hours as of 12, 13 and 14 January 2023:
- Jalan Bahar (12 January 2023)
- Woodlands Industrial Park E7 (13 January 2023)
- Aljunied 118 (14 January 2023)
- Bedok South 151 (14 January 2023)
- Bukit Batok 467 (14 January 2023)
- Potong Pasir 6 (14 January 2023)
- Tampines 872C (14 January 2023)
The following stores will be operating for 24 hours as of 19 and 20 January 2023:
- Loyang Point 258 (19 January 2023)
- Hougang 377 (20 January 2023)
- Junction Nine (20 January 2023)
- Junction Ten (20 January 2023)
- Upper Thomson 200 (20 January 2023)
Sheng Siong Opening Hours during CNY
Like other local supermarket outlets here in Singapore, such as Giant and Fairprice, Sheng Siong will be changing their opening hours for CNY eve and CNY itself.
Most Sheng Siong stores will continue to run 24 hours until CNY eve when all stores will operate until 4 am.
However, for CNY Days 1 and 2, only 26 stores will remain open from 8 am to 6 pm. Just like a typical office day.

Afterwards, all 61 Sheng Siong stores nationwide will be back to business as usual starting 24 January 2023, Tuesday.
