There’s literally nothing worse than looking at your phone bill and realising that you’ve exceeded your data limit. $50 gone, just like that.
Not to worry – come 9 August, Singtel and M1 subscribers will be able to enjoy free data for a day. That’s 24 whole hours where you don’t have to care about how many videos you watched on YouTube.
StarHub, too, has stepped up their game – the telco announced just today that customers will receive an additional 1GB of free data for the month of August.
As per their usual practice on special holidays, both Singtel and StarHub will also be offering free previews – which include popular channels such as the Disney Channel, National Geographic, and KBS World.
Last year, M1 announced their national day promotions first, giving out free calls, data and messaging. Next was StarHub, which offered an entire month of channel previews. Singtel was last, with 2 days of free data, free TV previews and a $5 bonus if you sign up for their mobile payments app, Dash.
StarHub doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to offering free data for its customers – they’re usually promoting their TV channels instead – but we’re glad that they’ve reviewed that.
