Whenever I read about crimes, I tend to feel indifferent to it—even murders.
What really ticks me off is when I come across low-life humans torturing or killing animals.
HOW CAN SOMEONE KILL A DOG OR A CAT?

You must be one notch above the sociopath scale to commit such a heinous crime.
So you can imagine why my blood was boiling when I found out someone killed, not one but two poodles.
The Putrid Poodle Killer
According to Channel NewsAsia, the AVA found a dead poodle on 21 December, abandoned at a staircase landing at an HDB estate on Teban Gardens Road with blood stains smeared on the nearby walls and floors.
It turns out that the poodle belonged to a 45-year old man—Yeo Poh Kwee. He wanted to abandon it but for some screwed up reason, he decided to drag it down the stairs with a leash from the 38th floor to the 19th floor of the block.
His treachery did not end there. He neglected another poodle of his, named Brownie.
According to the idiot, Brownie sustained injuries after its head got stuck between a water pipe and wall in the toilet.
He did not seek any veterinary treatment and as a result, it died.
The Punishment
He was sentenced to 18 months of jail time for animal cruelty and two months for pet abandonment.

One count of keeping an unlicensed dog was taken into consideration as well.
He is also banned from owning any animal for 12 months from the date of his release from prison.
If it were up to me, he wouldn’t be able to own any animals in his lifetime. He would also be beaten within an inch of his life—maybe drag him down a flight of spiked stairs with a leash.
Sorry I got carried away.

Anyone who commits animal cruelty could be jailed up to 18 months and/or fined up to $15,000.

Those who abandon their pets could be jailed up to 12 months and/or fined up to $10,000.
Keeping unlicensed dogs could warrant you a fine of up to $5000.
