When it comes to gatecrashing, we are certain to say that it’s almost difficult to surpass the effort and creativity put into that of a Singapore wedding. In fact, it’s almost like Chinggay parade.
From a McDonald’s themed gatecrash, an Imperial Dynasty themed gatecrash to other HDB gatecrash ideas Singaporeans have attempted, it’s almost hard to beat this one.
For Chia Luck Sin and his wife Meilin’s wedding, they definitely brought the whole gatecrashing game up another level.
‘Journey to the West’ Gatecrash
The groomsmen of the wedding were tasked to wear the ‘Journey Of The West’ costumes for the gatecrash.
Here, in this picture, you can spot General Erlang Shen (he even brought his dog along), Sun Wu Kong (Monkey King), Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy), Tang San Zhang (Tripitaka), Zhu Ba Jie (Piggy), Ne Zha, and Sha Wu Jing (Sandy).

In the wedding video, the amazing videographer, Adrian Oh, also shot some amazing video reels of the gatecrashing process, along with a cinematic walk done by the ‘crew’ of ‘Journey To The West’.
I mean, how would he have said no to an opportunity like that right? I know I wouldn’t have.
In the video, it also featured some of the popular casts of the show and their favourite antics in the series.
