Star Awards 2021 Will Be Held on 18 Apr 2021; Will Take Place at Changi Airport T4 & Jewel Changi Airport

The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to cancel many of our plans last year.

Personally, I had to cancel all my holidays abroad and was unable to break my 2019 record of most bubble teas consumed monthly.

The pandemic also forced many organisations to cancel large-scale events like award shows, as it involves a great number of people crowded together in a enclosed venue for hours.

One such event was the Star Awards 2021, which was supposed to be held on 26 April last year but was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Well, if you’ve missed seeing all your favourite local celebrities, I’ve got good news for you.

Star Awards 2021 Will Be Held on 18 Apr 2021; Will Take Place at Changi Airport T4 & Jewel Changi Airport

The Star Awards 2021 will go on as planned and will be held at Changi Airport.

The six-and-a-half hour long show will take place at Changi Airport Terminal 4 (T4) and Jewel Changi Airport on 18 April 2021.

For the first time in the show’s history, organiser Mediacorp will be working together with Changi Airport Group, Jewel Changi Airport, and Singapore Airlines (SIA) to present the awards show.

Fans can first catch the behind-the-scene preparations starting from 3:30pm at the T4 Heritage Zone. These include interviews with the stars themselves, backstage happenings, a livestream of the main ceremony, and more.

There will next be a Walk of Fame at 5:00pm, where celebs can strut their stuff on a new runway and show off their glitzy outfits. This time however, they’ll be walking on a different runway: the Changi Airport tarmac in front of a SIA Airbus A350-900 aircraft.

Finally, the main event of the night will be the awards ceremony at 7:00pm. According to The Straits Times, the awards ceremony will be held against the backdrop of the Shiseido Forest Valley and the HSBC Rain Vortex at Jewel, as well as at four locations across T4.

Since last year’s show was cancelled, this year’s Star Awards will combine the 2020 and 2021 ceremonies.

A total of 20 awards will be presented at Star Awards 2021, including a newly-added award called the Best Radio Programme.
