Swatch is a stylish, reputable watch brand. Omega is a luxury watchmaker. Put them together, and you’ve got to get a pretty good product, even if the price point is a far cry from Omega’s tens of thousands of dollars, right?
Reviews all over the internet have been trashing the Omega X Swatch BIOCERAMIC MoonSwatch watch collection for “feeling cheap”.
The most notable complaint, however, is that the paint from the MoonSwatch watch actually leaks and stains your wrist.
A customer from Hong Kong showed how the watch’s back has a small blue oval jutting out, which corresponded to the mark on his skin.
Is it just me, or does it look like a mini bruise?
Just like the bruises on their egos when they realised the watches they fought tooth and nail for weren’t limited edition. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Swatch has now responded to the paint leaking. The company reassured customers that the paint leak was “harmless” and “a very, very rare experience” that would fade over time.
Apparently, the reason for the stains is the “high amount of pigments used to achieve a strong colour result”, and “this effect is completely harmless to the wearer”.

The discoloration also does not affect the intensity of the watch’s colour.
“We have reported this to the quality management of our production facilities that have already taken all necessary measures on this matter,” Swatch added.
Good for them.
That’s Not All
However, the dye leak isn’t the only complaint faced by the consumers. Many also commented that the straps felt cheap, the plastic was flimsy, or the watch was already all scratched up at unboxing.
Swatch, however, has not responded to these allegations yet.
Either way, it is a rather anticlimactic fate to such a hyped-up collaboration.
