Taxi Driver Stressed Up Over ‘Wrong Directions’ & Wanted to ‘Die’; Threatens To Make Police Report

A taxi ride gone wrong was recorded on film and uploaded to the All Singapore Stuff Facebook Page on 20 Sep 2020.

According to the post, it seems that the incident took place in a ComfortDelgro taxi between the taxi driver and a foreign domestic helper who was bringing an elderly woman home.

In the 3-minute-46-second video, the taxi driver uncle could be heard asking, repeatedly, where exactly the pair’s destination was and accused the helper of giving him the wrong directions.

He also raised his voice, alleging that the domestic helper was bullying him and several times throughout the video, had asked “which way? left turn or right turn” agitatedly.

At one point in the video, he could be heard lamenting that passengers bullied him “every day”.

He even said that he wanted to take his own life if he could.

Meanwhile, the helper could be heard telling the driver that every time she told him the directions, he got angrier.

Wants To Make A Police Report

At the end of the ride, the taxi uncle asked for the elderly woman to be his “witness”, and said that he wants to make a police report.

He had even asked her for the helper’s personal identification.

At the end of the ride, the elderly woman could be seen handing over a pink card, which the driver took and glanced through.

Meanwhile, the helper slammed the door when getting out, prompting another round of shouting from the taxi driver, who said she shouldn’t have slammed his taxi’s door.

The helper went around the taxi and helped the elderly lady out before giving the uncle her final words:

“You have no right to humiliate me. You’re not fit to be a taxi driver.”

She also accused the uncle of bullying her during the ride.

Netizens’ Reactions

Most netizens, after watching the video, felt stressed out and angry too, but at the driver.

Some felt that he shouldn’t have been so agitated, especially when he’s driving.

There are others, however, who felt that the uncle might be too stressed up.

Some, however, came up with an alternative way that might just let both parties leave the incident happily.

Use GPS lah.

And turns out, this isn’t just tia kong (hearsay) only, someone met up with such an incident before and resolved it somewhat amicably.
