One thing is for sure: you won’t associate Instagram with the army. After all, no one in their right mind would post a #OOTD about their life in the army, or the latest food trend found in the army cookhouse (or…are they serving salted egg yolk dishes in cookhouse nowadays?).
But in comes the Thai army combat ration, which might just look as well as it tastes.

Okay, granted that I haven’t exactly pour out the contents of our SAF combat rations and take a look at how our beloved glutinous rice looks like, this “unboxing” video of the Thai army combat ration seems relatively better than our current combat rations.
And just for the uninitiated, combat rations are packaged food that we bring into the jungle. We don’t usually pour it out, but eat it like a sandwich instead.
What’s interesting about the combat ration is that it comes packaged with seasonings and sauces. I don’t know about you, but sprinkling those seasonings while you’re out there in the jungle sure feels a lot more at home.
Here’s the video. And for the record, no, we don’t bring that fancy plate to the jungle.
