The Thais seem to be the best at everything, at least in Southeast Asia.
They’re famous for their amazing ads.
They have one of the best cuisines in the world.
Seriously, I love Thai food.
The country also serves as a romantic getaway destination or a place to escape to after stealing your girlfriend’s Rolex watch.
Even when it comes to teachers, they have the prettiest and sweetest.
But it looks like another teacher is here to contest the Best Thai Teacher award.
Come Hell or High Water
How many times have you thought about skipping work simply because it was raining and it felt so good to sleep in?
You drag yourself out of the house and you missed your bus. Not too late to turn back, you think to yourself. The clinic is just nearby.
Some auntie barged in front of you and stole your seat. Maybe this is a sign?
It seems like you have so many reasons to turn back and not go to work.
But what about a landslide?
Well, that would certainly stop most of us, but not a certain Thai teacher.
Shared on Facebook in a post, a Thai teacher was seen crossing a road that collapsed due to a landslide.
“Must get to work”, she was probably thinking.
With a makeshift ladder, she carefully climbed down into the pit, which apparently spanned over 5 metres wide.
After crossing the obstacles, she then used the same ladder to climb up out of the pit.
My children need me! She probably thought.
“Must attain 100% attendance for my end-of-the-year bonus paycheck!” She screamed while successfully exiting the danger from the other side.
Okay, that’s a joke.
Understandably, by-standers were impressed by her will and determination to get to work.
You know who wouldn’t be impressed and happy about this?
Her students who thought she’ll take MC and they get a free period.
Imagine them cheering, “Eh got landslide today! Teacher confirm won’t come! Yay!”
Then she walks in like:
All jokes aside, this was a truly amazing gesture from the Thai teacher.
While most of us would abandon our job and duties for some extra shut-eye, she was willing to brave the aftermath of a landslide for hers.
Countless Thai Facebook users also poured in their appreciation in the comments, calling the teacher “awesome”.
Needless to say, we all have something to learn from her.
Her recipes for basil minced chicken and tom yum soup attitude towards work and perseverance.
