Looks like America’s future has hit rock bottom when wrestler-turned-movie-star Dwayne Johnson shuts down the possibility of joining the 2024 US Presidential Run.

Future President No More

This comes in contrary to earlier remarks that suggested he would change his career and enter politics.

In an Instagram post last year, he expressed gratitude for those who wanted him to run for Presidency.

In reference to the Newsweek article, he wrote that it was “humbling” to have the 46 percent of those surveyed in the Piplsay poll wanting him to be their next President, but doubts that their “Founding Fathers EVER envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club”.

Honestly, if their Founding Fathers saw the state that the nation is currently in, and what their last President did, I doubt having a wrestler running the country would have any difference. In fact, it would be pretty cool.

He added that if it ever does happen, it would be a great honor.

But I think if it ever does happen, I’ll be buying a Toto immediately.

Being a Good Father

The Jumanji movie star explained his decision not to run in the CBS News Sunday Morning, saying that though he has much love for his country and its people, he also “enjoys being a father”, and that it is “the most important thing” to him.

If you didn’t already know, his father Wayde Douglas Bowles or also known as “Rocky Johnson”, was a former professional wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). He rose to fame during the 1980s when Dwayne was still a child.

Throughout Dwayne’s adolescence, his father would be on the go and so busy that he was practically “absent for a lot of years.”

Now a father of three girls;  Jasmine Lia, 6, Tiana Gia, 4, and Simone Alexandra, 21,  the 50-year-old would like to be more present and involved in his daughters’ life.

And indeed, he has been sharing intimate moments with his children with the public, most notably on Instagram.

He may have the drive and power, the hunger for more and devour, and willing to put in the work and hours to take what is truly his, but at the end of the day, is he really qualified for the job?

Not Knowing Politics at All

In the Vanity Fair interview last October, he acknowledged that he doesn’t know the “first thing about politics.”.

He recognizes that assuming the role of a Governor or President sounded very tempting since it could be a terrific way to have a significant impact on the lives of others. But at the end of the day, he just isn’t qualified to enter politics.

Even without running for Presidency, his resume is already remarkable enough. Besides transitioning to acting, he also found success as a producer. He is one of the co-founders behind Seven Bucks Productions, with notable involvements including NBC’s The Titan Games and Fighting with My Family, starring Florence Pugh.

He is also one of the most recent celebrities to launch his own booze business with Teremana Tequila. His own energy drink, ZOA, was launched in March last year.

Currently, the actor has a superhero film based on DC Comics coming out on the 20th of this month.  He will be portraying the lead role in Black Adam, a role he was initially slated to make his film debut in for the Shazam! (2019) movie.
