Have you been wanting to visit South Korea for the longest time but do not have the time or money?

Do not worry as a new Korean marketplace is in town and it is located at Tanglin Mall, a relatively accessible location to get to especially after the opening of the new Thomson-East Coast line stations.

Named Market Blue, the newly opened fancy-looking Korean mart is an all-in-one market space that features many sections for people to explore.

Features a Wide Selection of Instant Noodles

If you are a frequent traveller to Bangkok, you might have heard of this instant noodle store called Good Noodle.

It is a shop that has a wide selection of instant noodles from across Asia.

Well, sounds amazingly sinful right? Be glad to know that Blue Market has a section that is almost the same as Good Noodle.

Inside this instant noodle haven, dubbed La Myun Le Chip, customers can find over 20 varieties of Korean instant noodles.

Each packet of Korean instant noodles goes for $2 and if you buy 10 packets, you get two free.

Since each instant noodle is individually packed, customers have the freedom to mix and match their selections.

In-house Eatery Serving Baekban

After some walking around the mart, you can refuel yourself at Blue Market’s in-house eatery.

Gogipan, the name of the eatery, specialises in Baekban, which are traditional Korean homecooked dished.

These Baekbans are commonly seen in the K-dramas that almost all Singaporeans love, making it a good place to try them.

Each Baekban set is priced at $24.90 and includes a Kimchi Jiigae (Kimchi stew), Bulgolgi rice (Beef barbequed Rice) and a generous amount of Banchan such as Kimchi, Cucumbers and other vegetables.

Do note that the set is only available from 11 am to 2 pm daily.

According to Netizens, Gogipan is also expected to have K-BBQ menu by the start of December. However, details of it have yet to be released.

Butchery for Korean Meat

After feasting away at Gogipan, you might want to purchase some ingredients to store at home.

Last but not least, for those who love their Korean rice wine, this is the place you want to visit.

JuMak the mart’s in-house brewery, makes fresh homemade Makgeolli. Apparently, there is going to be a makgeolli platter with flavors including Green Grape, Mango, and Pomegranate.
