There’s Going to be a Jay Chou Musical in S’pore Next Year But There’s No Jay Chou

For those of you who were paying attention, notice that we actually said “musical” and not “concert”.

Geez, I mean, can you even imagine a Jay Chou concert without Jay Chou? That’s like eating Bak Chor Mee without Bak Chor.

Anyway, back on topic.

Fans of Jay Chou, do you guys still remember a movie titled “Secret” back in 2007?

It was a pretty good movie if you ask me. Though, I still think that Jay Chou is better at singing(debatable) than acting.

A musical version of “Secret”, known as The Secret, is set to arrive on our shores in April of 2018.

As you would’ve expected, the musical is based on the movie and it would be about the love story between two students (spoilers omitted).

The musical will be staged from 6 April to 15 April at Marina Bay Sands.

The storyline of the musical is based on the time travel love story between two students in the original movie, said organisers Base Entertainment Asia and Perfect World Pictures on Friday (Dec 22).

The musical will be staged at Marina Bay Sands from April 6 to April 15.

“It is important to us to not just open doors to international talents but Asian as well. I have been actively looking for Asian shows with top quality and great content from the best. And with Jay Chou’s music and original script and its history as a hit movie, The Secret is the next ‘it’ show coming out from Asia to watch,” said Chief executive officer of Base Entertainment Asia, Chantal Prudhomme.

Tickets for the musical are currently on sale and are priced between $48 to $148. Do not miss this musical if you’re a fan of Jay Chou’s works!
