No, not water. Although that’s perfectly good on its own.
Rather, it’s something even better, someone, to be exact.
Gentlemen (and ladies), give it up for periodontist and functional dentistry practitioner, Marlene Teo!
Who is she?
Do not be deceived by her sweet looks, because she’s more than ready to kick your ass.
In the dental clinic.
Maintaining a clinical practice limited to periodontics and dental implants at TP Dental Surgeons Pte Ltd, Dr Teo provides periodontal therapy that includes treatment of gum disease, gum re-contouring surgeries, and dental implant procedures.
And that’s not even scraping the surface; Dr Teo holds an appointment as Adjunct Lecturer at the National University of Singapore, and supervises both undergraduates and postgraduates in the Periodontology program and the Certificate in Oral Implantology Singapore course.
Additionally, she’s also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, an ITI fellow and a much sought-after international speaker in dental implant aesthetics and gum re-contouring surgeries.
Talk about #overachieving.
Although to be fair, she’s always been an ace individual, even way back.
Academics
Dr Teo graduated from the National University of Singapore, where she was the 6th dental graduate in its 64-year history to be presented with BDS Honours.
Throughout her course of study, she was awarded a total of 11 academic and clinical medals, including the Lee Kuan Yew gold medal (best student throughout course of study), the Tratman Silver Medal (Most Distinguished Graduate) and the Dr FAC Oehlers Gold Medal (Best Clinical Student).
Thereafter, she received her Masters in Periodontology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was picked as one of four finalists in the reputable Orban competition.
The very same year, she was also presented the North Carolina-AADR Turner Research award.
Hobbies
Stereo-typically, you would expect someone as capable as her to partake in the routine afternoon tea, some light reading and socialising with important members of the society in her spare time.
If you did, you’re in for a surprise, because this girl doesn’t just have beauty and brains.
She’s got brawn too!
In fact, you don’t even have to dig deep into her Instagram profile to know that Dr Teo is a total Yoga enthusiast.
Although honestly, I’m not complaining.

However, it would seem that Dr Teo’s strictly off bounds, as a quick search revealed that she’s married, with two kids.
And I don’t even want to make that ‘you can still score with a goalkeeper in goal’ joke, because her family just looks so sweet.
