This Heart-breaking Scene of 94 Cats Being Clamped in a 3-Room HDB Flat Will Make Cat-lovers Cry

Cats are the cutest creatures in the world: yeah, they’re indifferent to everyone, but that’s precisely what makes them so adorable.

And it’s also because of their bo-chup attitude that they’re being clamped into a small flat without resisting.

On Monday (26 June 2017) early morning, at around 1:00 a.m., a group of cat lovers, who have formed the Facebook Page Saving The Siameses, decided that enough was enough: they were aware of the existence of many cats being kept in an HDB flat at Fernvale Link, and they announced that they were going to do a rescue operation that day.

The operation, called Evacuation Operation, is carried out in conjunction with the Cat Welfare Society. One challenge they faced is the welfare of the cats once they’re rescued: that’s why they’re raising funds to rehome the cats.

The team then reached the place at 9:40 a.m., and posted the first video at 10:00 a.m.

With that, they posted a series of live videos, detailing Evacuation Operation. Check out one of them which even has a commentator.

You can watch all the Facebook live videos at their Facebook Page here.

It then turned out that there were more cats than they had predicted: they thought there were only 50+ of them, but found 94 cats instead.

The entire operation ended at around 5:30 p.m. As expected from the rescuers, the conditions of the cats were bad; many of them had cat flu, they reeked of urine and poop and worst: some had missing eyeballs :O

The good news is that as of yesterday (27 June 2017), all the cats are now living in a better condition.

The person who kept the cats had been notified by HDB last month to find new homes for the cats as they’re not supposed to be kept in an HDB flat. That was also when CWS was alerted to the situation.

She had allegedly bred the cats (most likely to sell), but lost control of the breeding. The case is now being handed to the authorities.

Shockingly, this isn’t the first case: according to CWS, this is the seventh case this year (and we’re only halfway through the year). The only difference is that this case was made public to social media.
