McDonald’s – expanding waistlines in Singapore since 1979.

Singaporeans have a special relationship with McDonald’s. Whether it’s temporary menu items like the chocolate pie (please bring that back) or Hello Kitty-themed knick-knacks, we just can’t get enough.

That’s why when the fast-food joint closed for three weeks, violent crime in the country rose.

Well, now we have our Macs back, and while some people are gobbling their burgers down, others are conducting experiments on their drinks.

TikTok Video Showing All McDonald’s Drink Sizes Are The Same is Fake

On Sunday (24 May), a TikTok video titled “McDonald’s Secret” was uploaded to the Facebook page Singapore Atrium Sale.

The fact that it was a TikTok video should have alerted us, but they recently found out bugs come out of strawberries, so people are giving them a second chance.

At the beginning of the video, three McDonald’s cups of different sizes are placed beside each other on a table.

The cameraman then shows the top of all three cups: the small cup is filled to the brim with coke, while the medium and large cups are empty.

He pours the coke from the small cup into the medium cup and it magically fills it to the brim.

He repeats the process, pouring the contents of the medium cup into the large one, filling it to the brim with the same amount of coke.

The poster of the video is implying that McDonald’s is duping us into paying more for larger-sized beverages even though the amount in every size is the same.

But… how is this possible? How could our beloved McDonald’s do this to us?

Well, it was all fake.

Exposer Video

Two hours later, Singapore Atrium Sale uploaded another video of their own experiment to determine if the TikTok “McDonald’s Secret” one was real.

The video starts out with the same setup as the first:

Only this time, the debunker begins with a full large-sized cup and pours it into the medium-sized one, which is empty.

Strangely, even though the medium-size cup was filled to the brim, there was some coke left in the large one.

It’s almost as if the large-sized cup has more coke in it than the medium-sized one.

He repeated the same process, pouring the coke in the medium-sized cup into the small one.

As you can see, the small cup is filled, but there is still some liquid leftover in the medium one.

Thus, the first video was a LIE.

If you rewatch the first video, you’ll notice certain edits between the pouring process. The maker of the video probably added some coke to each cup before pouring the rest in to make it seem like they all had the same volume.

So, what have we learnt today?

Never trust a TikToker, especially at a time when everyone’s bored during the circuit breaker.

I mean, why else would you experiment with Coke?
