The Covid-19 pandemic isn’t just killing humans from around the world.

It’s killing their wallets too.

In Singapore, the government has been urging businesses to keep their workers on as much as possible and pledged a sizable amount of assistance to help them do so.

We’re the lucky ones (at least those with companies which managed to hold on until the money comes in).

But there are others who do not have the luxury of being kept on, like those in the US rising in protests and asking for states to lift the lockdown.

And those who had to be placed on unpaid leave due to restrictions.

Like The Trevor Noah ‘s “The Daily Show” Staff

Since April, studio production of Trevor Noah’s “The Daily Show” has suspended filming.

Instead of filming with a full crew, Trevor Noah now films himself at home for his daily shows, now dubbed “The Daily Social Distancing Show”.

While some of his staff are fortunate enough to work remotely, like writers, producers and production staff, there are others who are not, like camera operators, audio technicians, video operators and stage management personnel.

Thankfully, though, they have Trevor as their boss.

Trevor Noah Pledges To Pay Wages Of 25 Staff In Full

According to Variety, Trevor Noah has said that he will pay for the wages of 25 staff members “in full” from his own pockets.

And he will continue to do so until production “begins to ramp up in the television industry”, he reportedly promised.

These staff has been with his show “since day one”, and he genuinely respects each and every one of them.

A source close to the production team said that Noah wants “everyone” to get through this together.

For those who have had their pay cut by at least 30% for the past three months can also apply for the grant, which will give you up to $500 per month for three months to tide over the tough period.

Unemployed individuals who lost their jobs due to Covid-19 can also get up to $800 per month for up to three months but they must commit to a job search with e2i.
