We Tried the KFC Mac ‘N Cheese & Here’s What We Think

Still here? No worries, I promise I won’t be long. In fact, this is going to be one of the shortest food reviews I’ve ever written.

Because there’s only so much to say about a bowl of macaroni and cheese. If you think about it, how many adjectives can you actually come up with to describe a bowl of macaroni and cheese?

Anyway, without further ado, let’s commence the review!

Like most of you out there, the advertisement was the reason why we decided to get ourselves a bowl of KFC of Mac ‘N Cheese.

I mean, just look at their video!

Oh dear, who could possibly resist this? After all, it’s macaroni and cheese!

I can’t wait to put a spoonful of this salty-sweet goodness into my mouth!

And so we attempted to order a bowl of KFC Mac ‘N Cheese for our review after watching the advertisement. As it turns out, it was sold out and we couldn’t order it for delivery! (Whoa, is it that good?)

But you know what they say. Distance only makes the heart grow fonder. For the next couple of days, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Mac ‘N Cheese.

A couple of days later, we finally had the time to do the review and we tried ordering the Mac ‘N Cheese once more.

With hearts full of glee and anticipation, we opened up the container and what greeted us was(after adding the cheese)…

…Well, it doesn’t look too bad. Not like we were expecting it to look as advertised.

But more importantly, how was the taste?

Here’s a clue as to how it tasted:

Umm, it was… disappointing.

The macaroni is a little undercooked, and the cheese is too watery. It’s pretty bland, so it’s good for those of you who prefer your macaroni and cheese… tasteless. (It’s still cheesier than McDonald’s Cheesy Loaded Fries for sure) And we both agreed that it’s more suitable as a snack rather than a full meal.

As for the chicken, it’s just popcorn chicken dipped in watery Nacho cheese. Truth be told, the cheese did add a little more flavour to the chicken, which is nice.

Verdict:

KFC Mac ‘N Cheese: 2/5

…And that’s about all we can say about this meal. I’m not sure what else you guys were expecting though. It’s not good, but it’s not horrendous either. However, it’s definitely forgettable. I have a feeling I’ll forget all about its existence in a month or two.
