Winter Expected in First Half of Dec With 22 Degree & Lots of Rain

Lest you’re unaware, December is climatologically the wettest month of the year.

And it looks set to continue the trend, as it appears that the first half of December is set to be the closest to winter we can get.

According to the Meteorological Service Singapore, frequent showers can be expected in Singapore within the first fortnight of December 2020.

Short-stint moderate to intense thundershowers are predicted to occur in the afternoon on most days.

They may also drag on into the evening on several occasions.

On a few days, thundery showers could prove especially heavy and widespread.

Meanwhile, occasional windy conditions can be expected in the latter half of the fortnight.

Temperature-wise, the degree Celsius is expected to range between 24 and 33 on most days.

It may also reach 34°C on rare occasions.

When it gets rainy, however, the temperature could get as low as 22°C.

Great news for those working from home;

Not so great news for those commuting to and fro for work.

Back-To-Back

Comparatively speaking, November was not far off winter either.

With thundery showers on most afternoons, and a lowest daily minimum temperature of 22.3°C recorded on 28 November, November was one hell of a cold month itself.

How ‘fortunate’, then, that December’s all set to follow suit.

But cheer up, my commuter friends. Though you may be unable to sleep in, and may have to contend with ferocious weather on your way home, you can at least take solace in the fact that it’ll be generally cooling.

For the record, November 2020 was touted as the second coolest November within the last decade. And judging from the pre-emptive looks of it, December may be just as, if not more, cooling.
