If you’ve been staying indoors the whole afternoon yesterday and only realised that it was raining when it’s too late, you’re not alone.
At least you have me.
“I even more suay, I was in a rush!”
Brother, same here.
“Please my car kena stuck in the flood you know!”
Oh well, you win.
Ok, for all of our friends who weren’t in the know and have no idea what just happened, there was flooding yesterday (25 Jan).
“What?! Again?”
Yea, I know…I’ve lost count of how many flood articles I’ve written this year.
According to TODAYonline, flash floods were reported in the Western and Central parts of Singapore yesterday, after an afternoon of heavy rain.
The Public Utilities Board (PUB) said in a statement on yesterday night that the flash floods occurred at three locations at around 5.15pm:
Jalan Boon Lay/International Road, Craig Road and Outram Road.
PUB also said that Jalan Boon Lay/International Road and Craig Road are known flood hotspots.

According to PUB, there are “plans for drainage improvement works at Jalan Boon Lay/International Road in tandem with upcoming development works in the area”.
Hmm…
The agency says it is finding ways to improve the drainage at Craig Road.
Hmm…
“The flood at Outram Road is next to PUB’s drainage construction worksite and we are investigating further,” PUB said.
Hmm…
Ok, enough doubting.
PUB says that the Northeast Monsoon is expected to continue all the way to March.
Which means that we should probably be prepared for more flash floods coming our way.
I mean, it’s not like Rome was built in a day.
FYI, if you need flood updates, you can find the information on PUB’s Facebook www.facebook.com/PUBSg or on their mobile app “MyWaters”.
