Great. Just great. And just when I thought I’m finally done with this song. After months of peace, this is what I get?

Can I just have a show of hands here? How many of you are actually sick and tired of this song? (C’mon, don’t be shy now.)

Why, thank you all for the support. I, like many of you, was also a victim of Despacito. I remembered it vividly like it was yesterday. I was at my part-time job, doing simple clerk work. As luck would have it, my ex-boss was completely okay with us blasting music in the office. Things were great, for a period of time.

Yeap. For the next 3 or 4 days (it was a blur due to the side effects of the song), the song was on an endless loop. Since it was my ex-boss who was playing the song, nobody said anything at all. That’s not all. Everywhere I went, shopping malls, restaurants and even the pubs – were playing the song.

It was the plague.

Months later, I still hear people listening to the song. However, it’s a lot less frequent than before (Thank goodness). And just when I thought it was going to be over, this happens.

  1. Am. Dead. Serious.

The song Despacito has received four awards, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year award. Despacito has since became the most watched video ever on Youtube, and tied for most weeks on the number one position of the US singles chart.

“I sang a little bit in Mandarin. The song has become a worldwide phenomenon and singing it in Mandarin is an honor,” said Fonzi.

Well, I suppose it’s slightly different since it’ll be in Mandarin. Still, after what I’ve been through, I don’t see myself listening to the song out of my own free will.

For fans of the song, good for you (I guess). I’ll probably hide in a cave until this blows over. My ears just can’t take any more of it and my heart simply isn’t strong enough. And don’t any of you dare tell me to take it “slowly”!

Since you’re here, why not watch a video about an NTU student who went all out to impress his crush, only to end up in…tragedy? Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
