Just when you thought you’ve seen it all. I mean, what’s the best course of action you can think of if a loanshark is giving you trouble?
Naturally, one would think of lodging a police report or hiding from the loanshark at a relative’s place until the matter(hopefully) blows over.
No? Well then, how about stabbing your own arm and claiming that the loansharks did it?
Yeah, not exactly the best idea out there, but someone actually did it.
So, an 84-year-old man was arrested for allegedly lodging a false police report. The man claimed that he was stabbed twice in his arm by a loanshark.
The incident happened on 19 Jan at Block 234 Hougang Avenue 1 at around 10.22 am.
The man’s statement was established to be false information after officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division found several inconsistencies in the suspect’s statements. Investigations have also revealed that the injuries on the man’s arm were self-inflicted.
According to Zaobao, the man had owed the loansharks more than $1000 in cash.
…Right. So, because of this, he thought that it would be a good idea to frame the loansharks for his injuries and get away with it?
Not that I support his method, but he could’ve at least tried to eliminate the inconsistencies in his statements if he’s planning to frame the loansharks!
That being said, please don’t do things like this and waste our police officers’ time lah. I’m quite certain they have more important things to deal with too.
Secondly, don’t borrow money from loansharks. I can’t stress this point enough. In fact, if I were to write a guide for avoiding loansharks, it’ll probably look something like this:
- Lodge a police report
- Hide in your relative’s house for the time being
- Do not borrow money from loansharks
- DO NOT borrow money from loansharks!
- DO NOT BORROW MONEY FROM LOANSHARKS!!
Look, I have no idea what you need the money for, but borrowing from loansharks are amongst the worst decisions a person can make, aside from eating tide pods.
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
