Remember those nasty visits to the dentists to remove your baby teeth? Yeah, those visits were terrible. We aren’t fond of those memories, given how painful it was. Do you still remember yours?
1. Blood
First thing first- When there is anything to do with the teeth, I would be imagining a pool of blood forming in my mouth. This surely doesn’t help with the situation at all, especially when you have a shaky tooth that is in need of help. HELP.
2. Unable to Eat
To chew or not to chew? That is the question. Every time a baby tooth starts shaking happily, my diet would only consist of porridge, porridge and porridge. Offer me my favourite chocolate and I would reject you with regret. *Cries*
3. Visits to the Dentist
Just hearing the pure sound of scaling scares the crap out of me. Even if my baby tooth were desperately hanging off the verge of my mouth, I would refuse to visit the dentist. I’d rather wait patiently for it to drop. Really!
4. Fear of Swallowing your Tooth
I used to have the fear of swallowing my tooth whenever it starts shaking. What if you just happen to bite something relatively harder, then you ended up swallowing it just because you thought that it was your food?
5. Brushing of Teeth
Brushing of teeth is ten times more difficult with a shaky tooth. It becomes a mission to avoid the areas near the danger zone. Sometimes you just tend to forget that your tooth was shaking. Thanks to your diligent brushing, the pressure made it drop. Yay, no more visits to the dentist!
6. Tooth Fairy
Ah, the legendary tooth fairy. I believed so much in you and I even thought that you had the power to make my tooth disappear. After giving you several of my baby teeth, you still didn’t take any. Was my pain of going through the process, not enough?
7. Grandmother Stories
Remember those stories your grandmother would tell you on how they would pluck the tooth out of your parent’s mouth? I remembered them tying a string to a door, on the other hand attaching it to the shaky tooth. Just one slam of the door, and viola- the tooth would be out. Ouch.
8. Sore Gums
When the tooth drops, there will be a lump in your gum before the adult tooth pops out. Sometimes it gets really sore to the point where your diet has to revert back to porridge again.
9. Itchy Tongue
After your tooth drops, there will be an empty space left in place. This uncomfortable feeling surfaces when you try running your tongue across your rows of teeth. Furthermore, your itchy tongue will definitely keep irritating the wound. Sounds familiar?
10. Teasing
Last but not least, you’ll have to tolerate the endless teasing from your classmates and your siblings. “Boh Gay!” Yes, it means “no teeth” in dialect. On the other hand, you get to tease them once their teeth start dropping. A tooth for a tooth!
