Makeup is every women’s must-haves even if it goes down to just a simple lip balm. However, every look comes with a price and sometimes it can get costly. What if there are ways for you to get the same result but at a low to zero cost using items laying around your house? Read on to find out the handy hacks!
Fuller & Thicker Eyelashes
Yearning for thicker eyelashes? After applying the first coat of mascara, powder your eyelashes with baby powder before applying the second coat. This allows the lashes to look thicker and fuller with no extra cost!
Mascara Revival
We all know that mascaras have a short shelf life but we often forget to buy new ones (or perhaps it’s just me). Well, here’s a hack for you – whenever your mascara gets less liquid and more sticky leading to an almost-solid state, try reviving it with a few drops of saline solution!
Contouring
Accidentally bought a concealer shade that is too dark for your skin tone? Use it to contour the T-zone, nose and cheeks of your face instead of throwing it away. This saves you the trip and money for a new contouring kit!
Highlighting
Almost similar to the one above, if you accidentally bought a concealer that is too light for your skin tone, you may choose to use it as a highlight for your face instead!
Ombre Nails
Tired of plain one coloured nails? Use a sponge eyeshadow brush to stain the tips of your nails with a secondary colour/ glitter polish to create a beautiful ombre look after you applied your base coat.
Quick Dry-off Nails
Rushing off but just did your nails? Prepare a tub of water with ice cubes and soak your freshly painted nails inside before removing after just a minute or two and you’re good to go!
Smokey Eye
As often as i like going for the smokey eye look, I am usually afraid of applying too-thick layers of brown to black eyeshadows but here’s a hack to get just the right amount! At the outer corner of each eye, use your eyebrow or eyeliner pencil and draw a hashtag before smudging it to get a smokey look.
Eyebrows
Often in the palette, the white shades are usually less used, unlike the other shades. However, white is actually more useful than you would think. The next time you do your makeup, try applying a layer of white eyeshadow at the top and bottom of your eyebrows before gently blending it in. This would allow the shape of your eyebrows to stand out.
Eyes
Similarly to the white eyeshadow hack for your eyebrows, applying white eyeshadow or eyeliner on your lids before gently blending in as well as at both your tear ducts would actually help to make your eyes stand out. This would allow you to look brighter and more alert. Great hack for a sleepy day!
Lips
Differing from each woman, sometimes we have more variety in shades of eyeshadows than lipsticks. If you would like a lip colour in that beautiful burgundy pink shade that you own, simply mix some loose powder from your eyeshadows and add it to a portion of your lip balm to create a perfect new shade of lipstick.
